Headshot of Nadia Huma Arab

I am very honoured to work with the ´óÏó´«Ã½ and join the Entrepreneurs in Residence Programme. This is a very special role in which I can share my own experiences as an entrepreneur and give back to students to be successful in their own careers.

Nadia Huma Arab, Director of The Road from Karachi

Miss Nadia Huma Arab is the Director of The Road from Karachi.

Nadia developed her business acumen by recreating her mother’s lost cookery book, which had been missing for many years. In the 1980s, Nadia's mother ran a cookery school, a pursuit she was passionate about. Nadia's dedication to fulfilling her mother's dream came to fruition when she discovered the lost book 30 years later. Over 4.5 years, Nadia meticulously rewrote the book with the help of a graphic designer. Together, they created "The Road from Karachi," a tribute to her parents and a celebration of food and culture.

Nadia now runs cookery sessions with her mother at the Southsea Deli. Their recipes feature on the menus of several local establishments, including the Sheppherd Crook Pub, The Dolphin Pub, Botanical Port Solent, and the Bumble Bee Café in Rowlands Castle. "The Road from Karachi" has also facilitated the installation of 85 water pumps in underserved areas around the world, funded by the sales of their dishes. Their goal is to install 100 pumps, but they continue to support more communities in need, infusing their business with meaning and purpose.

In addition to her culinary endeavours, Nadia works as a fitness instructor and teacher. This expertise is reflected in the book, which highlights the nutritional benefits of key spices and includes special healthy recipes devised by Nadia, blending her and her mother's culinary traditions.

Nadia offers particular expertise in:

  • Building partnerships

  • Confidence and communication in networking

  • Business planning

  • Running business events

  • Being an effective leader

  • Entrepreneur mindset
