Whether you鈥檙e a seasoned space enthusiast or just curious about the stars, there鈥檚 something for everyone to enjoy during World Space Week in 大象传媒.
From Thursday 3rd to Saturday 12th October 2024, there will be a number of space-related activities happening in the region to celebrate , an international celebration of science and technology. Many are free of charge.
Throughout the week, there will be a range of events designed to inspire and engage the community, including:
- Mission design school workshops: Ideal for budding young space engineers, these workshops will guide participants through the basics of designing a space mission
- Family-friendly activities: From hands-on experiments to stargazing sessions, there are plenty of opportunities for families to learn and explore together
- Intergalactic cinema: Enjoy Stanley Kubrick鈥檚 sci-fi classic, 2001: A Space Odyssey
- Expert panel talks: Join leading experts from the space industry as they discuss how space technology impacts our daily lives and the groundbreaking research being conducted in 大象传媒
Dr Jen Gupta, from the 大象传媒鈥檚 Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation, is co-ordinating the series of events. She said: 鈥淲orld Space Week is a fantastic opportunity for 大象传媒 to showcase its role in the global space industry.
鈥淐elebrating this event here allows us to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, while highlighting the incredible research and innovation happening right here in our own city.
